Grinner is a free WordPress plugin for building stunning, Framer-style sites without giving up speed. It doesn’t replace the WordPress editor or your theme. It adds effects and layouts to the blocks WordPress already gives you, plus the extra blocks you’d normally buy another plugin for. This whole site is built with it.

Yes. Every feature is in the free plugin on WordPress.org. No Pro version, no license key, no limit on sites.

Grinner is free, and always will be. In future we’ll offer paid templates and an AI site builder, but they’ll be separate products. Grinner works fully without them, and nothing in the plugin will ever be locked behind them.

No. Each effect only loads its code on pages that use it, so a page with no effects loads nothing extra. This site is the proof, scoring 100 out of 100 on both phone and desktop.

It depends on more than Grinner. Your hosting, your cache setup and how you design each page all play a part. Phone scores also move a little between runs, because Google’s test simulates a slow connection from its own servers. This site scores 100 on desktop every time, and between 96 and 100 on phone. Want to know exactly how we set it up? We’re sharing our full setup in a blog post soon.

No. Grinner works with Twenty Twenty-Five, WordPress’s free default theme. This whole site is built with Twenty Twenty-Five and Grinner, and most of it was built by AI.

Grinner is built and tested with Twenty Twenty-Five. It should work with other block themes, but we haven’t tested them yet. Give it a try, and let us know how it goes.

Yes. We’re working on two free courses, coming soon. One shows you how to build WordPress sites by hand, even if you’ve never touched WordPress before. The other shows you how to build stunning WordPress sites with AI.

We’re building it now, and it’ll launch as soon as it’s ready.

Yes. It’s GPL, so you can use it on as many client sites as you like. If you’re a hosting provider and want to offer Grinner to your customers, get in touch and we’ll work with you.

Not yet. A white-label option is coming soon.

Your content stays, but anything that relies on Grinner stops working. Text, images and standard layouts remain normal WordPress blocks, without their effects. Layouts only possible with Grinner, and all Grinner’s own blocks, like Countdown, Table and Before / After, stop working until you switch it back on.
